Kristi Overgaard, the Executive Vice President of Awesomeness for Switch and all Rob Roy Companies, has been selected to serve as Vice Chair of the Nevada State College Foundation's Board of Trustees.
Overgaard joined the Foundation's Board of Trustees in 2014. She says she is excited to take on this new leadership role within the Foundation, and to make an impact in the field of education in Nevada. I m happy to serve in this capacity, Overgaard said. I look forward to utilizing my unique connection to the S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) education initiative of my company and the state of Nevada to cultivate the future of our growing innovation economy through this forward-thinking college.
In her professional role as executive vice president of Awesomeness, Overgaard directs all creative aspects of the Switch and Rob Roy brands and culture development. She also drives the Innevation Initiatives with Rob Roy to passionately promote economic development, growth and diversity for the state of Nevada. Overgaard plans to use those skills to benefit NSC. I expect to share my brand and culture development skill sets to expand the awareness of this valuable community asset beyond the current radius of influence, she said. I plan to share any and all opportunities for collaboration within my sphere of influence to connect as many conversations and action items together to be generated into results.
The Nevada State College Foundation's mission is to encourage and promote the growth and improvement of Nevada State College, and to receive and administer private gifts provided to the College. Overgaard believes that the Foundation and its collaboration with other institutions are key components of NSC and the entire community. The Foundation is a brain trust of business and problem-solving minds that can shape this college and its mission to directly affect economic development in our community, she said.
As EVP of Awesomeness, Overgaard oversees a talented team of art directors, programmers, 3D artists, interior designers, and government and public relations professionals in support of the brand, culture, and communications. Prior to joining SUPERNAP, Overgaard founded one11, a leading Las Vegas design firm focused on identity development, creative culture development, product design, and branded interior design.
Prior to one11'screation, Overgaard was the vice president of marketing for The Howard Hughes Corporation in Las Vegas. In that role, she directed market research, brand development, advertising, merchandising, and village design and planning for Summerlin. As a member of the Summerlin senior staff, Overgaard actively participated in defining, creating, and directing the company vision.
Overgaard enjoys making a difference for her immediate community and believes her background will help her excel as Vice Chair of the Foundation. My past experiences in brand development and business management, partnered with the world-class collaboration experience I ve gained at Switch will all support excellence, she said.
